Southeastern Baptist College delivered a complete performance on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader with a 5-1 win in game one followed by a 9-4 victory in game two. Behind strong pitching, disciplined at-bats, and aggressive base running, the Chargers controlled the day from start to finish.
Game 1: Chargers Set the Tone in 5-1 Win
Southeastern Baptist opened the day with a strong 5-1 victory, setting the tone early with timely offense and dominant pitching. The Chargers jumped on the board in the first inning, executing situational baseball to manufacture an early run and take control.
SBC continued to build momentum in the middle innings, adding key insurance runs through productive outs and disciplined at-bats. The offense stayed consistent throughout, putting pressure on the defense and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.
On the mound, Patrick Rivers delivered a standout performance, leading the Chargers with a strong outing and keeping the opposition off balance throughout the game. Ben Elsberry delivered a strong start on the mound, going 6.1 innings while allowing four runs, only two earned, and striking out six. Ethan Russell came on in relief to help finish the game and secure the win.
