Southeastern Baptist College delivered a complete performance on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader with a 5-1 win in game one followed by a 9-4 victory in game two. Behind strong pitching, disciplined at-bats, and aggressive base running, the Chargers controlled the day from start to finish.

Game 1: Chargers Set the Tone in 5-1 Win

Southeastern Baptist opened the day with a strong 5-1 victory, setting the tone early with timely offense and dominant pitching. The Chargers jumped on the board in the first inning, executing situational baseball to manufacture an early run and take control.

SBC continued to build momentum in the middle innings, adding key insurance runs through productive outs and disciplined at-bats. The offense stayed consistent throughout, putting pressure on the defense and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.

On the mound, Patrick Rivers delivered a standout performance, leading the Chargers with a strong outing and keeping the opposition off balance throughout the game. Rivers attacked the zone, limited free passes, and controlled the tempo, allowing just one run while giving SBC a steady presence from start to finish.

Defensively, Southeastern Baptist played a clean game, turning key plays when needed and avoiding mistakes. The combination of Rivers' performance, solid defense, and timely hitting allowed the Chargers to maintain control and secure the 5-1 win heading into game two.

Game 2: Patience at the Plate Leads to 9-4 Victory

The Chargers carried that momentum into game two, overcoming early adversity with timely offense and strong pitching to secure the sweep.

Southeastern Baptist responded quickly after falling behind, using disciplined at-bats in the first inning to draw multiple walks and bring in two runs. The Chargers continued to apply pressure in the third inning, capitalizing on key opportunities to take a 5-4 lead they would not relinquish.

Ben Elsberry delivered a strong start on the mound, going 6.1 innings while allowing four runs, only two earned, and striking out six. Ethan Russell came on in relief to help finish the game and secure the win.

Offensively, Hunter Filber led the Chargers with two RBIs. Shooter Holyfield, Jhase Jackson, Bailey, and Filber each recorded a hit, while Chance Burkes showcased patience at the plate with three walks.

Southeastern Baptist's approach at the plate proved to be a difference-maker, as the team drew 11 walks and consistently created scoring opportunities. The Chargers also stayed aggressive on the bases, swiping five bags, with Burkes and Bailey leading the way with multiple stolen bases.
