The Southeastern Baptist College baseball program is excited to announce the commitment of Matt Rankin from Puckett High School, MS for the 2026 recruiting class.

A true multi-sport athlete, Rankin has excelled for the Puckett Wolves in baseball, basketball, and football throughout his high school career. His athleticism, competitiveness, and leadership have made him one of the most respected athletes in the program. Rankin has competed as a varsity baseball player, basketball player, and football defensive back, demonstrating the versatility and work ethic that translate well to the collegiate level.

On the baseball field, Rankin has been a consistent offensive producer throughout his career. Entering the conclusion of his senior season, he compiled a career .390 batting average, .518 on-base percentage, 78 hits, 83 runs scored, and 48 RBIs. During the 2025-26 season alone, Rankin hit .455 with 35 hits, 33 runs scored, and 22 RBIs, ranking among the top hitters in Mississippi baseball.

Beyond the statistics, Rankin brings the type of toughness and competitive spirit that coaches value. His experience competing year-round in multiple sports has helped develop the athleticism, mental toughness, and team-first attitude that will make him a valuable addition to the Chargers program.

Rankin joins a growing 2026 recruiting class as Southeastern Baptist College continues building on recent success, including five regional appearances in the last six seasons.
