Southeastern Baptist College Baseball will host its annual First Pitch Dinner on Saturday, January 17, as the Chargers officially kick off the upcoming baseball season.

The First Pitch Dinner serves as a season-opening event for Charger Baseball, bringing together players, families, alumni, and supporters for an evening of fellowship and inspiration. The event includes a catered meal and a keynote address from one of college baseball's respected leaders.

Guest Speaker: Coach Eric DuBose

Southeastern Baptist College Baseball is honored to welcome Eric DuBose, Head Baseball Coach at the University of West Alabama, as the featured guest speaker for the First Pitch Dinner.
Coach DuBose brings a rare blend of SEC pedigree, Major League experience, and Division II leadership to the evening.

Playing Career

A native of Mississippi, DuBose starred collegiately at Mississippi State University, where he developed into a premier left-handed pitcher. His success at the collegiate level led to a professional career that culminated in Major League Baseball with the Baltimore Orioles. Competing at the highest level of the game, he gained firsthand experience in elite preparation, discipline, and performance standards.

Coaching Career

Following his playing days, Coach DuBose transitioned into coaching, where he has built a reputation as a teacher of the game and developer of young men. As the head baseball coach at the University of West Alabama, he leads an NCAA Division II program competing in the Gulf South Conference, one of the most competitive conferences in Division II baseball.

His coaching philosophy emphasizes:

  • Pitching and defensive efficiency
  • Mental toughness and preparation
  • Leadership on and off the field
