The Southeastern Baptist College Chargers got off to a slow start, missing several easy shots and struggling with turnovers—many of them self-inflicted. Their opponent's size and length created problems throughout the first half, keeping the Chargers from finding an early rhythm on offense.
However, the second half told a different story. The Chargers regrouped and came out with renewed energy, shooting the ball much better and getting a major boost from their bench, which contributed 37 total points. Freshman AJ Johnson led the team with a breakout performance, pouring in 21 points to spark the comeback effort. Transfer EJ Collier also made an impact in key moments, finishing with 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in strong minutes off the bench.
While the result didn't go their way, the Chargers showed promising growth and resilience—especially from their younger players and newcomers. The improved second-half play is something the team will look to build on as they continue early-season competition.
