Box Score Game Recap (Final Before the Break)

This was our final game before the break, and although we came up short, we saw a lot of improvement from our team.

Crowley Ridge controlled the game on the boards, and their size was a major factor. Our turnovers were way down, and our defensive effort was much better overall. Now we have to put together a complete 40-minute game.

Midway through the first half, we went 7–8 possessions without scoring, and that can't happen against any team. We trailed 40–24 at halftime and fell behind by as many as 20 points, but our guys kept fighting and cut it to eight, which was as close as we could get.

We played much better in the second half—creating turnovers and knocking down shots. The difference in the game was rebounding, as Crowley Ridge dominated the boards 58–31.

Our freshmen continue to grow and gain confidence:

• AJ Jones – 10 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists
• Chancler Burks – 9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists
• Jay'Lyn Blakney – 5 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists

Adin Johnson led the bench with 16 points in his first game, providing an immediate spark.
