Chargers sweep Touglaoo College Bulldogs in Home Opener, 5-2 & 10-4

In a doubleheader at A.W. Watson Field in Laurel, MS, Southeastern Baptist College showcased their dominance over Tougaloo College with consecutive victories of 5-2 and 10-4 on Saturday.

The first game saw Southeastern Baptist College rallying to a 5-2 triumph. Weston Wales made a remarkable play, stealing home to help Southeastern Baptist College level the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Then, in the fourth inning, Southeastern Baptist College capitalized on an error, scoring three crucial runs to break the tie. Alexis Garcia's timely double extended their lead to 5-1. Pitcher Ryley Reynolds delivered a stellar performance, earning the win after allowing only three hits and two runs over seven innings while striking out six batters. Notable offensive contributions came from William Larocca, Alexis Garcia, Caleb Polk, and Armand Diagre, each collecting a hit. Garcia led the team with one RBI.

In the second game, Southeastern Baptist College continued their momentum with a commanding 10-4 victory. Mason Bonono secured the win, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits over five innings, supported by solid relief pitching from Dennis Krabbe and Aaron D'Aquilla. Southeastern Baptist College's offense remained potent, amassing nine hits in the game. Damon Putnam and Kaleb Gilner stood out with three hits apiece, contributing significantly to their team's success. Southeastern Baptist College grabbed the lead in the second inning when Leroy Rushing scored after tagging up, setting the tone for their dominant performance. Gilner's clutch single in the third inning broke the tie, followed by a groundout from Rushing, extending their lead to 5-2. Putnam's stellar hitting performance included a double and two singles.
