LAUREL, MS — Southeastern Baptist College rallied late to take down Bob Jones University 12-10 on Friday afternoon at A.W. Watson Field, thanks in large part to a monster day at the plate from Tre'Von Wynn.
Wynn was electric, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including a two-run single in the first and a two-run homer to left field in the third. His performance helped the Chargers stay within striking distance before a dramatic five-run rally in the bottom of the eighth gave SBC the lead for good.
Weston Wales was a spark plug for the offense as well, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a pair of clutch doubles, including the go-ahead two-RBI double in the eighth. He also swiped three bases in the contest.
Tristen Henry picked up the win in relief, tossing three innings while allowing just two runs and striking out three. Ryley Reynolds started on the mound, working six innings and striking out three.
The Chargers showed great patience at the plate, drawing 11 walks and stealing six bases as a team. They'll look to ride this momentum into Saturday's home rematch against Bob Jones University.
