Rian Shields serves as the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director. Shields played four seasons at Belhaven University before spending a final year as a transfer player at SBC, where he earned his degree in Business Administration. While finishing his degree, Shields served as a student-assistant for the women's basketball team.Â
After serving as an assistant coach for one season, Shields was promoted to lead the women's basketball program, where he looks to implement a transition-based offense as well as a disciplined man-to-man defense. Shields' highest priority is developing a program that plays basketball in a way that honors God, emphasizing faith, sportsmanship, and teamwork above all.Â
