Lee Rich serves as the Assistant Head Coach, Pitching Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator for the Southeastern Baptist College (SBC) Chargers baseball program. Entering his fourth season on Head Coach Rafael Farrell's staff, Rich has played an integral role in the continued growth of the program, helping establish SBC as one of the premier pitching programs in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
As Pitching Coach, Rich oversees all aspects of the Chargers' pitching staff, including player development, bullpen management, game preparation, pitching analytics, and in-game strategy. His emphasis on mechanics, command, velocity development, and mental preparation has helped elevate the program's performance on the mound.
In his role as Recruiting Coordinator, Rich leads the Chargers' recruiting efforts, identifying and evaluating talent throughout the Southeast while building relationships with high school, junior college, and travel ball programs. His recruiting philosophy focuses on finding student-athletes who fit the program's commitment to faith, character, academics, and competitive excellence.
Under Rich's leadership, the Chargers' pitching staff has earned national recognition. In 2024, SBC finished 3rd nationally among all NCCAA Division I and II programs in team pitching while producing the No. 1-ranked pitcher in the nation. The pitching staff followed that performance in 2025 with another Top 10 national ranking, helping lead the Chargers to the NCCAA South Regional Semifinals and back-to-back postseason appearances.
A former standout left-handed pitcher and first baseman at Quitman High School in Mississippi, Rich brings more than two decades of coaching experience to the Chargers. His background includes American Legion baseball, showcase organizations, player development, and collegiate recruiting, providing student-athletes with valuable instruction both on and off the field.
Rich's coaching philosophy is centered on developing complete student-athletes by emphasizing faith, discipline, accountability, and relentless preparation. His commitment to building championship-caliber pitchers and mentoring young men continues to play a vital role in the success and future of Southeastern Baptist College Baseball.
