Southeastern Baptist College Women's Basketball Announces 2025–26 Roster
The Southeastern Baptist College Chargers are excited to announce the 2025–26 Women's Basketball roster, featuring a mix of talented returners and promising newcomers. This year's squad is made up of 10 student-athletes who bring skill, leadership, and energy to the program.
Returning Players
Sydney Coward
Sydney looks to build on a solid freshman season where she proved to be an iron woman, averaging nearly 38 minutes per game. She was second on the team in blocks and knocked down a team-high 49 three-pointers, earning South All-Region Honorable Mention honors. Sydney's energy, effort, and leadership by example make her one of the Chargers' cornerstones.
Jakyiah Ashford
Back for her second year, Jakyiah appeared in 12 contests last season and showed her versatility as a crafty guard. Known for her high basketball IQ and ability to create for herself and her teammates, Jakyiah is expected to play a much bigger role this season.
Breyonce' Jim
The tough and energetic Choctaw native returns after a strong freshman season at the point guard position. Breyonce led the Chargers in assists and steals last year and brings intensity, joy, and contagious energy to her teammates both on and off the court.
Laura Cobb
Cobb returns after averaging 13 points and 7 rebounds per game last season. More than just numbers, Laura is a spiritual and emotional leader for the Chargers, encouraging her teammates and lifting them up. She's a proven scorer and rebounder who makes everyone around her better.
Sanaa Holmes
The lone senior on this young Chargers squad, Sanaa is the team's veteran leader. Last year, she played in every contest and showed her versatility—scoring, rebounding, handling the ball, and defending at a high level. Her experience and toughness are invaluable assets.
New Faces
Nakiyah Hoskins (Pontotoc HS)
An incoming freshman, Nakiyah brings elite quickness, a solid basketball IQ, and a reliable three-point shot. She was recognized for Best Hustle and Best Defense in high school and is expected to have an immediate impact.
Adisyn Sanders (Pearl River Central HS)
Adisyn is a determined freshman who excelled academically while honing her game as a natural shooter and passer. She brings strong fundamentals and an unselfish play style, along with a steady outside touch.
Nia English (Pearl River Central HS / Pearl River CC)
Nia transfers in with valuable experience after redshirting at Pearl River Community College. She adds post footwork, perimeter versatility, and outside shooting ability to the Chargers' lineup, bringing depth and maturity to the roster.
Nadia Bates (Noxapater HS)
A three-sport athlete in high school, Nadia graduated with honors and scored over 500 career points on the basketball court. Her athleticism, rebounding ability, and three-point shooting give the Chargers a versatile freshman forward.
Jamaya Morris (Petal HS)
Known for her senior leadership and shooting ability, Jamaya brings good size and range to the Chargers. She also made an impact at the Chargers' summer kids camp, serving as the Most Valuable Coach (MVC). Currently in basic training, Jamaya will join the team in November.
