Southeastern Baptist College proudly introduces Drew Taylor as its new Director of Strength and Conditioning. A Meridian, Mississippi native with a passion for faith-based athletic development, Taylor brings a proven record of championship-caliber training, academic excellence, and servant leadership to the Chargers athletic department.

Taylor most recently spent two years leading strength and conditioning at Jackson Prep, where he oversaw performance training for baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, and volleyball. During his time there, Jackson Prep teams captured multiple state titles, highlighted by the 2024 baseball championship featuring Konnor Griffin, the National High School Player of the Year and top-10 MLB Draft pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates. His training program contributed to Prep’s continued dominance in the MAIS, a conference in which the school has earned the All-Sports Trophy in 25 of the last 26 years.

Before stepping into the private school coaching world, Taylor wore two hats—serving his community as a firefighter for the City of Madison, while simultaneously coaching as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Mississippi College. There, he worked with athletes in football, baseball, track and field, basketball, and softball, further refining his coaching philosophy. He also earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential during this time.

A former middle linebacker for the Mississippi College Choctaws, Taylor graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, balancing academics, athletics, and leadership with excellence.

His competitive roots trace back to Russell Christian Academy, where he was class valedictorian in 2018. A two-way standout on the football field, he earned all-conference honors as both quarterback and linebacker, passing for 2,800 yards and 59 touchdowns while registering over 150 tackles on defense. Off the field, he was a three-time state champion in powerlifting, underscoring his deep foundation in strength training.

Today, Taylor lives in Petal, Mississippi, with his wife Brookelyn, whom he met during college. They are the proud parents of their one-year-old daughter, Aven Caroline, and are excited to be part of the Charger community as they begin this new chapter at Southeastern Baptist College.
